ACC-3 cartridges are designed such that where water flows from bottom to top ensures a long contact time, allowing for maximum adsorption and treatment. KDF utilizing redox reactions, kills or inhibits bacteria growth, converts chlorine to chlorides and removes iron, hydrogen sulphide and heavy metals (lead, arsenic, etc.). ACR-1 series utilizes FDA-grade, sodium, based, strongly acidic ion-exchange resin which reduces calcium and magnesium ion content in water. Calcium and magnesium are often called "hardness minerals". Large amounts of these ions in water are responsible for the formation of scale deposits, higher detergent consumption and stains on glassware. In extreme cases large amounts of calcium and magnesium can lead to glass etching. Hard water damages home appliances such as: dishwashers and washing machines, and increases their energy consumption. Aquafilter offers AISTRO In-line Softener cartridge (AISTRO, AISTRO-L-AQ and AISTRO-QC) suitable for POU (Point of Use) installations. Through its double media consisted of ion exchange-based resins, AISTRO cartridges effectively reduce water hardness (high concentration of calcium and magnesium ions). In case your feed water contains a high concentration of suspended matter, AISTRO is commonly preceded by a Sediment filter to avoid a detriment of the cartridge performance.
