Our OxyGuard probes measure and monitor many different parameters. With advanced sensor technology we provide accurate and real-time data, essential for maintaining optimal conditions in aquaculture, wastewater treatment plants and other aquatic systems.
The Model 420 is a membrane covered galvanic oxygen probe with built-in two-wire 4-20 mA transmitter. The probe is connected to a DC supply and draws a current of between 4 and 20 mA corresponding to the oxygen concentration.
There are only two wires to connect, and there is no limit to cable length. The output signal is galvanically isolated from the built-in electronics and the process fluid. Interference between the Model 420 and other equipment can never occur!
The OxyGuard Model 420 can therefore be connected directly to a wide range of equipment that can accept a 4-20 mA input, such as alarms, indicators, controllers, recorders, PLC’s, PC systems with A/D input etc.
The Model 420 can also be used to measure gaseous oxygen concentration.

OxyGuard temperature probes are robust, accurate and easy to use. They are filled with a special compound that protects against moisture. As standard the probes are fitted with 7 m cable, but they can be supplied with other lengths on request. The sensor in both types of probe consists of a stainless steel cylinder containing the thermistor or Pt100 element. This sensor tip is fitted to a black plastic housing. Standard types of housing are shown overleaf, but others can be supplied on request, e.g. to fit other pipe threads or fittings.
The OxyGuard Salinity Probe is specially designed for aquaculture use. Factory calibration and automatic temperature compensation make it very easy to use. It is found in two versions. One is a 3-wire 4-20 mA sensor – connect it to 24 VDC and the output varies between 4 and 20 mA according to the salinity. The other has data bus connection for use with OxyGuard Pacific.
The probe is designed to be as trouble-free as possible, with features specially suited for aquacultural use. Inductive technology is used so that you don’t have to worry about deposits on the surface of the probe – all you have to do is ensure that the hole in the probe is open and relatively clean.
The probe measures salinity according to the internationally agreed PSS-78 scale (Practical Salinity Scale 78).

These OxyGuard probes consist of an electrode and an impedance converter inside a twopart housing held together by a threaded collar. There is extra sealing so that the connections at the top of the electrode remain dry even when the probe is completely submersed. The impedance converter immediately over the electrode eliminates electrical noise problems and permits the use of ordinary cable to connect the probe. Either lightduty or heavy duty OxyGuard pH or redox electrodes with flange fittings can be used.
As standard probes are manufactured from PVC (for temperatures up to 60°C), but on request they can be supplied in other materials, e.g. PP for up to 10 bar at 25 °C, 4 bar at 90 °C, or PVDF for up to 6 bar up to 100°C, 2 bar at 120°C.
There are three basic designs, one for free mounting, one with a 3/4″ tee for flow-through use, the third designed to be screwed into a pipe, flange or other suitable fixture. The probes can be ordered with a 1″ thread at the top of the top part for mounting purposes. OxyGuard also manufacture probes to customer specification, so please ask if you cannot use a standard design. As standard the probes have 7m cables.
For Heavy Duty use in very dirty environments probes can be supplied with a probe cleaning system. This has, for example, proved effective when measuring agricultural slurry – add “C” to ordering number. Several types of mounting device are also available. These are described in separate brochures.
K01 OxyGuard Static pH / Redox Probe
The OxyGuard TGP probe measures Total dissolved Gas Pressure and is designedspecifically for use with OxyGuard Commander or Pacific systems. It can be addedto existing systems. It contains sensors for dissolved gas pressure and temperature.The gases dissolved in water consist of oxygen and “other gases”. “Other gases” aremainly nitrogen. It is important to measure if the water is supersaturated in order toprevent the fish from getting gas bubble disease.
The Commander or Pacific system to which the probe is connected uses a dissolvedoxygen measurement made by a DO probe placed near the TGP probe forcalculations and presents the degrees of saturation for the total gas, dissolvedoxygen and for “other gas”.

OxyGuards new optical oxygen probe is developed in cooperation with world leading experts. Based on luminescence quenching of a sensor dye immobilized on a support foil it can be used for gas measurements as well as for dissolved oxygen (DO).
The presence of molecular oxygen quenches the luminescence, changing its intensity and lifetime fully reversibly. The measurement principle is very robust. It shows virtually no interference to other gases and has very low drift. Bleaching is not an issue because low energy red light excites the sensor spot and emission is NIR.

The ODO/CT, probe and cable assembly features integral (i.e., built-in) optical dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and temperature sensors and is available in lengths up to 100 meters.
