Polyphosphate prevents scale by reacting with dissolved hardness minerals (e.g. calcium carbonate and calcium bicarbonate) and transforming them into harmless, microscopic crystals of calcium orthophosphate. The Philips TUV 4W G4T5 is a ultraviolet lamp which emits high intensity germicidal light at 254nm. They are used in private water supplies, air conditioning units, aquatics, food & drink processing and medical establishments to purify air, water and hard surfaces. We recommend replacing your lamp after 6000 hours to ensure maximum disinfection. After this time, the amount of useful uv-c light diminishes and hence will not be as effective.
