Depth filtration, as it suggests, is the process of filtering through a depth of media to effectively trap and retain various particulate. Commonly specified in a variety of applications, depth filtration is often relied upon as the first stage of a filtration cascade, however advanced manufacturing techniques have developed this method of filtration, reliably and accurately improving downstream filtration. The SPECTRUM range of depth filters include the traditional ‘string wound’ options, good for high temperature and chemical compatibility through to the modern technology of spun bonded cartridges, which offer a higher level of filtration efficiency and improved particulate accuracy.
With higher efficiency and a longer service life than both the Economic and Standard spun, the PSP is the most versatile and adept cartridge in the TruDepth range. The deep grooved construction significantly increases the surface area, maximising the dirt holding capacity of the cartridge whilst the integral support core increases pressure and temperature operating conditions. Available with a range of end-caps for added seal security and operator ease for fitting in multi-round housings.
Where long life, high purity and low change-outs are required, the Purtrex range meets the requirements of most non-critical applications or as an economic pre-filter.The patented construction of this pure polypropylene, surfactant-free depth filter ensures low pressure drops, with exceptional dirt holding capabilities in standard as well as large diameter options, making it the next generation replacement product to wound and wrongly specified resin-bonded cartridges.Containing no anti-static wetting agents, solvents or binders the Purtrex’s one-step manufacturing process continuously extrudes and thermally bonds pure polypropylene microfibers into a complex filter matrix. Micro-filaments plus precise fibre control maximizes the positive filtration characteristics of the graded density, tight cut-offs and maximum void areas with millions of tortuous paths.Material of Construction

The lowest cost spun-bonded cartridge in the SPECTRUM range, the TruDepth Economic cartridge is ideally suited for batch processes where repeated change-out is required. With a graded density construction, this entry level cartridge is excellent at preventing premature blinding of other filtration systems further downstream. As with all of the TruDepth range, the ESP from SPECTRUM benefits from a strong self-supporting structure, manufactured from FDA compliant materials.Features & Information
